Since 1998, we have home-raised wonderful canine companions

Our Journey…

Located in Sebastopol, California, nestled in the heart of the idyllic wine country and just an hour north of San Francisco, we are a boutique breeding operation specializing in miniature Goldendoodles. Our delightful puppies are bred, nurtured, cared for, here at our home in Sebastopol, yet have spread joy in homes across the United States.

The love affair with these incredible dogs began with golden retrievers, who were always a cherished part of our family. In the late 1980s, we were presented with an opportunity to use our male Golden, Samson, as a stud. After careful consideration, we agreed to the proposition, trading his stud services for a champion line female retriever. We named her Kayla, fulfilling our daughter's dream of one day raising golden retriever puppies.

The pairing of Kayla and Samson resulted in their first delightful litter. This marked not only a joyous occasion but also the inception of our meticulous breeding program. We shifted to breeding F1 Mini-Goldendooles in the late 90’s, a tradition we continue today, proudly offering healthy, genetically diverse and extremely adorable miniature Goldendoodles.

Common Questions:

Are Goldendoodle’s good family dogs?

Yes! A first-generation (F1) Goldendoodle makes a wonderful companion and addition to any home. By being first-generation, and born to AKC registered parents, we can ensures clean genetic diversity, which promotes healthier and temperamentally consistent puppies. The added benefit of our miniatures, is that their small stature makes them easy to fit into a variety of homes and adopters of all ages.

What is a first-generation (F1) Goldendoodle?

A first-generation (F1) Goldendoodle is the direct offspring of a purebred Golden Retriever and a purebred Poodle. This ensures non-related parentage, which promotes healthier and temperamentally consistent puppies.

How big do your Goldendoodles get?

Our unique breeding process involving a 10-pound Poodle father results in Goldendoodles that average between 25-30 pounds, though some may be as small as 20 pounds or as large as 40 pounds.

I heard that Goldendoodles can be erratic and high-strung, is that true?

It is possible that some multi-generation (F2, F3, F4, F5) or backcrossing to Poodle (F1B, F1BB) leads to behavior problems, particularly if their linage is not as clear as a breeder might indicate. We exclusively breed F1 Miniature Goldendoodles to AKC registered parents to guarantee a clean genetic heritage.

Are your Goldendoodles hypoallergenic?

While no dog is 100% hypoallergenic, many of our families with allergies, even severe ones, have successfully adopted our puppies without experiencing allergic reactions.

Why don't you breed multi-generational or backcross Goldendoodles?

Multi-generational breeding (F2, F3, F4, and F5) or backcrossing to the Poodle (F1B, F1BB) can result in uncertain parentage and larger-sized puppies. We aim to preserve the integrity of the Goldendoodle breed, and we believe this is best achieved through first-generation breeding.

Why is first-generation breeding more expensive?

First-generation breeding can be more costly due to the selective process involved and because successful breeding isn't always guaranteed. However, this extra investment ensures a superior quality of puppies in terms of health, temperament, and consistency.

What sets your breeding process apart from other Goldendoodle breeders?

We are one of the few breeders who focus exclusively on first-generation breeding with a smaller Poodle father. This unique approach results in a distinctive size range for our Goldendoodles and ensures that our puppies' parents are not related. Our commitment to quality and breed preservation sets us apart in the Goldendoodle breeding community.
